I am not a fan of Noynoy...

...but I'd vote for him

I was never really a fan of expecting people in government do to much for the betterment of our lives. I have always believed in the power of the private sector, and by private sector I mean the tycoons of foreign descent... and the richest pure filipino is a politician.

anyway

I'd vote for Noynoy not because I want to see him in office... cause honestly I'd really be voting Erap just for the heck of it... I'd be voting for Noynoy because I don't want Villar to win...

Villar's victory in the coming elections will prove that once again we filipinos are easily swayed by gimmicky advertising... thus proves that we haven't learned from our mistakes..

although even if Villar wins, I don't think it'll be the end of the world.. although the frequent earthquakes seem to suggest that the Mayan prophecy might be true..Villar will definitely use his powers as head of state to benefit his businesses... "kung gusto pang yumaman pa, babalik na lang ako sa pagkanegosyante".. oh yeah? I dare you to stop all operations from all businesses you own or involved with..

the scary part of him winning the elections and him proposing more projects to benefit his businesses is that the Villar name could probably become more prominent than any other clan in the Philippines.. thus perpetuating Villar's hold on the filipinos.. its like Marcos and the Conjugal Dictatorship part 2

but what I am really afraid.. or maybe not afraid.. like.. will be saddened when Villar wins is that it proves how the power of the mass media can do a good job of brainwashing or mind controlling us... we are under the power of radio signals

an evil guy seated in the government can be ousted with the people power. but when its the media we are talking about.. its something out of science fiction...

and when science fiction turns into reality.. now that is scary...

cause look, for me, noynoy is just riding on his family's fame. in almost every commercial, he mentions his parents. if you didnt know his parents were these iconic filipinos, would you vote for him? the main reason why he decided to join the presidential elections was because his mom died. and he wants to continue the fight. well, he was currently a senator when his mother died. what has he done? we still don't know who killed his dad, and look at hacienda luisita now (no offense to the noynoy lovers here)

very f*cking true.

if you just didn't want villar to win, then why not assess the other candidates? noynoy isn't the only competition. if noynoy wins, well, what is the world coming to? telling people about what the parents had done? now that's advertising.

yes. this is also my concern about him running for president. just like her mom during her time, she was not the perfect person to run for president. it was just the perfect time for her to run for the position mainly because her husband was assassinated by someone we dont know. so its all about good timing. (well, this was explained to me by someone who happened to witnessed the EDSA 1 when people clamored for freedom during marcos' regime.)

Regarding gibo, yes he is good. infact, he is very smart. nonetheless, my only concern about him is the maguindanoa massacre. yes, he was pulled out from the position he once orchestrated (secretray of DND, if i am not mistaken, or DOJ?? basta about dun). pero kung talagang matalino siya, sana naisip niya yung mga kaguluhang nangyari sa mindanoa that time. for sure, hindi lang naman nagkaroon ng ganong problema right after his term as secretary of DND or DOJ. so ibig sabihin, nasa position pa lang siya e may nangyayari na non. so sana na address na niya yun beforehand.

i hope we could find the right individual to be our next president. but im not saying that the 2 persons i've discussed were the not so right individuals. these were just mere opinions of mine... :D
and besides, lahat naman ng presidential candidates ay may baho, hindi lang lumalabs lahat ngayun. we just have to use the concept of necessary evil, wherein we have to choose for the president who has done less evil stuff than others. so un...

and sana pala we can talk about senators and alike, who are also running for national positions. napapansin ko kasi sa atin ngayun eh puro presidential candidate ang pinaguusapan natin, e hindi lang naman siya ang magpapabago sa kalagayan natin ngayun. may vp, mga senators and governors pang kailangang pagtuunan ng pansin.

oh well, we still have more or less 2 months to consider all these things. :D

Good! I actually agree. Well, for one, i think among the nine presidentiables running, he is by far the best. We're not running on just galing and talino or sipag at tiyaga or whatever tagline you have there.

To answer some of your friends questions (Hi jam. :D), well for one, if you think he's riding on his parents' names, well yes of course his parents are very important to him. But for one, he will definitely not ruin his parents' names. the fact that people keep bringing that up gives him a big challenge to meet all challenges that having that name brings. His parents have set the bar so high, and Noynoy has to do his very best not to destroy that name. also adding to that, his parents are highly respected by the people, i'm sure noynoy will not disappoint. Second to answer the question on what he has done, i actually have a list of achievements that he has done in office. for example, he was the co-author of the climate change act, which we really need right now. and of course another is the UP Charter which he co-authored. If you think he didn't pass a lot of bills, he did but they're mostly pending in the house of representatives. And unfortunately, most of the members of the lower house are allied with the current president. But the current list i have has many laws that he has authored or co-authored. And as for Hacienda Luisita (i will get back with facts and numbers once i find them) but for one, they (he and his sisters) have already expressed their desire to give up their shares. Second, Noynoy's share covers only around 1 or 2 % (not sure if former or latter). Actually, there's a sort of confusion now of how many people were actually killed, and the fact that the hacienda guards were actually disarmed then according to the family. And unlike villar, he's willing to answer questions on Luisita and especially on SCTEX, unlike Villar who avoids all issues pertaining to the C5 issure.

And as for gibo, if you would like, please read this article by Patricia evangelista (and a very well-written one at that.) http://opinion.inquirer.net/inquireropinion/columns/view/20100206-251687/The-guns-of-Gibo

If gibo was that good, then why won't he face issues about GMA? Instead of answering questions regarding what he would do about GMA's issues if he does become president, he merely evades it by making some excuse to the lines of I will not bite the hand that fed me or something like that.

Of course, it's clear where i stand and who i believe in and who i will vote for. Tumaya na ako. :D

Unfortunately, even gordon has his issues, especially concerning the nepotism in Olongapo.
