Strangely, I've been watching, listening and reading Japanese stuff. It started off with Chobits, then it went to Death Note, then it went to J-music. Right now, I've been listening to Dragon Ash, Maximum The Hormone and Utada Hikaru. After years of not listening to pop music! But I'm not new to Utada's music, Automatic was her first song that I've heard. Then I abstained from pop music...
Now, I started listening to her music again. I just got Passion last night, and as of the moment it has been played 16 times in my Zen. While Hikari's play count is 113. When I first heard Passion over YouTube, the first thing that came to my mind was "what the? what's this Japan's Bjork?!". I'm a fan of Bjork's music too, by the way. It kinda felt strange at first, with the reversed playback of some lines or line(I'm not really good at japanese.. I only know a few words. ie. zutto, iterasshai, okaeri, gomenai, daijobu, and nani) But after listening to it for 16 times already, I started to like the song(especially the percussions part). Since I can't understand the whole song, I'm just treating it like an instrumental song or something.
